Recruitment of Employment Caseworker

Due to the current and expected demand for employment advice, a vacancy has arisen for a specialist employment caseworker to join the active and experienced team at Derbyshire Law Centre.  We are looking for someone who can preferably start immediately and the post will be for a fixed-term period of 12 months from commencement of contract.

Applicants should have experience of supervised case work, ideally with a focus on employment and/or discrimination law. They should be able to run their own caseload and have the ability to negotiate settlements out of court and undertake advocacy in the Employment Tribunal.

Just in time – the Evaluation report

We are proud to present you with the Just in Time’s Evaluation report. The evaluation report highlights the difference that Just in Time have made for employees with long term health problems and their referring agencies such as Ingeus, Occupational Health and GPs.

Our Legal Walkers have exceeded their fundraising target of £300.00 after having completed a sponsored Legal walk last Thursday in Sheffield. The funds will go to Access to Justice Foundation that distributes funds to improve people’s access to social justice.

Recruitment of Homelessness Prevention Paralegal

Due to internal recruitment a position has become available for a Homelessness Prevention Paralegal.

The role comes with a high degree of autonomy and includes providing support to the housing caseworkers to help prevent homelessness. The catchment area is Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire. You must have exceptional file management and organisational skills and be naturally inquisitive with an understanding of legal principals.

Free workshop for deaf & hard of hearing people

Derbyshire Law Centre is proud to ha working in partnership in response to deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people being fed up of being treated unfairly in work or when accessing goods and services.

British Deaf Association, Communication Unlimited and Deaf-initely Women have joined forces with Derbyshire Law Centre and Cloisters Chambers to deliver an accessible online workshop to inform deaf, deafblinf and hard of hearing people of their rights in work and when accessing goods & services.

We are making a huge difference to people’s lives

As the only housing advice agency in Derbyshire, we have produced a Housing Impact report that is packed with life-changing stories from tenants and homeless people across Derbyshire last year. who we helped last year.
