Derbyshire Law Centre formally known as Chesterfield Law Centre® has moved to 1 Rose Hill East, Chesterfield, S40 1NU. Our offices are located on the lower ground floor east side of the Town Hall. We are independent from Chesterfield Borough Council.
Derbyshire Law Centre – aims to achieve equal access to justice for all sections of the community through provision of free legal services.
Derbyshire Law Centre can offer free, confidential help, advice and representation to residents of Derbyshire in social welfare matters.
The advice and representation that we offer depends on where a person lives and their financial situation. Where a person cannot access a free legal casework service a charged for service may be available.
We cannot always take on a particular case, as we may not specialise in the type of law required, but we try to give advice on finding another agency or source of advice.
We attempt to be accessible to everyone, and offer the following services.
- Wheelchair accessible meeting rooms and interview room
- Home visits
- Translators and signers
- Textphone and mobile text systems
- A fitted and portable loop system
- Car parking, including disabled, adjacent to the main entrance.
