Why volunteer at the Derbyshire Law Centre?
Volunteering with us gives you an opportunity to contribute to the running of an important service in our local community. Depending on your volunteering role, you may gain work experience and skills that will improve your confidence and give you an insight into how front line charities work.
We’ll also benefit from the knowledge, skills and experience you’ll bring to the team. You will always be made very welcome as it’s crucial to us that you enjoy giving your time.

Each year we welcome students from Schools, Colleges and University who are looking to gain work experience. This is arranged through your education provider and is individual to the person looking to apply. Previously we have supported University students on a weekly basis to give them an insight into our legal practice and have accepted GCSE students on week placements on a variety of topics. Tasks and responsibilities depend on the length of placement and the student’s course requirements.
Trustees (Organisational Members and Management Committee)
We are always looking for more people to join our team as Organisational Members and members of Management Committee, individual members or member organisations. They attend regular meetings, provide valuable insight and expertise to support our organisation.
Our volunteering is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund which has enabled us to offer more volunteering opportunities to Derbyshire residents.
