Internal Changes at Derbyshire Law Centre 2025

Happy new year to all of our friends and colleagues in the local area, we hope you had a restful festive break.

The new year brings changes for us at Derbyshire Law Centre. As some of you are aware the Law Centre was founded with a flat management structure reporting to our Board of Trustees. This management structure has allowed the organisation to respond to the needs of our community through collective decision making.

However, since its conception in 1989 the Law Centre has grown considerably. We now cover five areas of law as well as supporting core functions and as well as community outreach and engagement. As a result of this growth and external changes in funding and working culture we have made the decision to transition towards a Senior Leadership Team supported by a tiered management structure. We believe this new structure will allow the organisation to continue to adapt to changing situations and provide improved support for our employees, volunteers, Board of Trustees and crucially, the clients we support.

We do not anticipate there will be any critical changes in our operations or our engagement with external partners. However, if you or your organisation need more information about this change or how it might affect your communication or dealings with the Derbyshire Law Centre please contact our team via email at DLC@DerbyshireLawCentre.org.uk

Many thanks,
Lisa Haythorne,
Senior Solicitor, on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team
